Control Your Chakra, Or Else

The thing I love most about cartoons, which most people are too blind to because of their own idea on what an adult should be, is that they put the world into such a perspective that is both hilarious and trill (or very honest). One of my favorites and one you should really check out (subtitles and all) is a Japanese Anime series titled ‘Naruto’. Not only is the story impeccable, but the story within the story is a far greater feat. Don’t want to give away too much here, for those that actually heeds that particular piece of advice (thank me later). Any who, as I watched the show, I learned about chakra for the first time. Being merely a teen growing up in the urban (read: ghetto)parts of Chicago, I thought past what it truly was, settling in my mind that it was merely a creation of the show runners to do some cool effects and keep my attention glued to whatever device I’d continuously binge episode after episode. I grew up, obviously, and began to study different cultures, sects, and religions and in doing so I came across that very same word, chakra. It was in my studies of the Asian Indian culture, where chakra is the seven spiritual points within each person that controls their health, mentality and spiritual universe. In the aforementioned series, these energies were depicted by two different colors, red and blue. Blue being the good kind, representing emotions such as happiness, joy, love, generosity, etc. Red, the more powerful of the two, represented emotions such as anger, envy, greed, etc. It was a combination of these two things that allows me to write this here today. We must learn to control our chakras, dammit.

The seven points that the texts speak upon range from the crown of the head and all the way down to the base of the spine. It is within these regions that we have the energy which keeps us both healthy and stable. This is why I bring forth the topic at hand. There have been many a time where I too have allowed my red, more powerful, less tame inner self, to take over situations only to have regrets at a later time. Whether it were to cause wounds within relationships, friendships and/or health, I recommend to you that you sincerely attain inner peace so that you may further control your own personal universe. The first step is learn and acknowledge what it is that causes you to flip the proverbial switch and using the weakness as a strength. The things that you love and care for give you a certain strength, sure, but it’s the things that tick us the most in which we have no idea how strong (or reckless) we may become. It is when those things are mastered that we become a truly unstoppable being. So, take the time to learn self, it is never too late, and master the particulars that trigger the red energy.

Using anime once again as a reference point, the main thing I learned from watching these characters develop was that amassing such an important talent has no timeframe. These things take longer than expected, which is why having no expectation is the simple solution to harnessing such an important power. Within you, there lies a god or goddess, that has a higher purpose and once a higher understanding of self has been reached, that purpose shall be unlocked. We’ve all been in positions where we wish we’d have done things a bit calmer, a bit more subtle, or simply not at all. Being the one in control is not as asinine as others would have you believe, but it is rather a mission in which life has set forward since our personal inception. No matter how far you may get, without prior knowledge or balance of self, you are always at risk to lose whatever it is that makes you happy, comfortable, or fulfilled. These are things you do not want to happen, at all. So, take some time to self assess, as learning to control your chakra reaps nothing but benefits. May peace be upon you.

Tis, the NBA Season: My (Stupid) Predictions

I like, not love, the National Basketball Association. So, when they say “this may be one of the greatest seasons we’ve seen in awhile.” I do not believe them, though I am involved in fantasy basketball and I will watch as much of the... Continue →
